I absolutely love roasting fruit. It adds an unbelievable amount of rich flavor. And when spiked with a bit of alcohol you can turn a plain ol’ pear into an indulgent adult dessert.

Make sure you use a smooth, quality liqueur. TUACA vanilla citrus liqueur is the perfect addition to roasted fruit . . . and of course, cocktails!

And just look at that gorgeous bottle. I couldn’t get a photo that showed off TUACA the way I envisioned so I went on a field trip to my back yard. The old grape vines made for the perfect photo background because TUACA is 100% natural. The creation process begins with the selection of the finest Italian brandy, ranging from 3 to 10 years old. The Italian brandy is then blended with natural sugar, fine spirits and a touch of citrus and vanilla essences.

There is a reason I do not have very many cocktail recipes on WonkyWonderful. I am not a huge drinker. I do enjoy my occasional glass of wine. And when I do have a cocktail I am very particular.

I was pleasantly surprised by how refreshing yet smooth this Tuaca Mule  is. It is a cocktail that is perfect for parties or a quiet evening relaxing at home. Just a few simple ingredients, mix and enjoy.

TUACA Mule

2.00 oz Tuaca® Liqueur
4.00 oz Ginger Beer*
1/2 Lime

Squeeze lime into a copper mug filled with ice. Drop lime into mug, then add Tuaca® and top with ginger beer. Stir gently and enjoy.

*There are many different varieties of ginger beer (hard, fruity, nonalcoholic) I found a great variety at World Market. If you are unable to find ginger beer or just prefer a sweeter cocktail, ginger ale can be used instead.

Here is a super fun video that shows just how easy this TUACA Mule really is to make.

I created this TUACA Cider Float to go with the Roasted Pears. This cocktail is a twist on the Tuaca Hot Apple Pie  that is made with hot cider, whipped cream and cinnamon. I left the cider cold and substituted the whipped cream for vanilla ice cream.

TUACA is my new favorite secret ingredient for recipes. I’ve always loved desserts that are spiked with liqueur. I can’t wait to use TUACA in some of my favorite holiday recipes like fruit cake! This year I plan on attempting to recreate my Grandma’s famous brandy soaked fruit cake. I think the hints of vanilla and citrus will take drunken fruit cake to the next level!
