Turkey Charcuterie Board Tips

  • Work in symmetry: Even layering on each side makes the “feathers” look fuller and more turkey-like.
  • Cut cheese into various shapes: Cubes, slices, and wedges add visual variety.
  • Keep it fresh: Assemble close to serving time or refrigerate if prepping ahead.
  • Serve Fresh Fruit: on the side or on the board such as fresh berries, grapes, clementines, or pomegranate seeds.
  • Sliced Veggies: such as carrots, cucumber, and bell peppers are some other great options to include if desired.
  • Turkey Eyes: Instead of candy eyes – use peppercorns, cloves, chocolate chips, or even black icing. Use a sliced piece of cheese cut to make a beak.
  • Herbs: Fresh herbs such as rosemary or sage can be used to help fill any gaps.

Why This Snack Board Will Be A Hit

  • Kid-friendly: Fun visuals encourage even picky eaters to snack.
  • Instagram-worthy: This board is a photo-op waiting to happen. Show-stopper!
  • Customizable: You can easily adapt ingredients for dietary needs.

THANKSGIVING CHARCUTERIE BOARD

Yield: 1
Prep Time: 10 minutes

For the ultimate show-stopping Thanksgiving appetizer, make this THANKSGIVING TURKEY CHARCUTERIE BOARD. Meat, cheese and crackers arranged to look like a turkey.

Ingredients

  • Assorted sliced salami
  • Prosciutto wrapped mozzarella sticks, sliced into thirds
  • Assorted cheese slices
  • 8 ounce block Colby and Monterey Jack, cut into ½-inch cubes
  • 8 ounce block Pepperjack, cut into ½-inch cubes
  • Assorted round crackers
  • Square crackers
  • 7 ounce jar stuffed manzanilla olives
  • 1 apple, cut in half, for the turkey body
  • ½ cup whole almonds
  • 2 piece pecan halves, for the turkey feet
  • 2 candy eyeballs, for the turkey eyes (optional)
  • Red and black grapes,

Instructions

    1. Place the halved apple or pear towards the bottom of the board in the center to make the turkey’s body. Leave a little space underneath to place the pecan halves for the feet.
    2. Place down the cracker layer - fan it out into a rainbow over the turkey.
    3. Next, fan out the salami layers and have it slightly overlapping the cracker layer.
    4. Add the cheese halfway on top of the sliced salami. You can use the cubed cheeses for one layer and the sliced cheeses for another layer.
    5. Add the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella towards the top of the board.
    6. Surround the turkey with whole almonds for the “feathers”.
    7. Place more crackers to fill in the gaps on the sides of the prosciutto and then layer with more cheese slices on top.
    8. Add olives on top, going across the board. You can also place it in other areas to fill any gaps as needed.
    9. If giving the turkey eyes, add them now. I used candy eyes. You can make a little indent and nestle them in. You can also melt a little white chocolate and dab just a bit to help “glue” it in place.
    10. Adjust the board and add more crackers, salami, cheese, olives, or nuts where needed to even it out. Arrange any fruits and herbs to fill spaces.

Notes

How much meat/cheese you need to buy will depend on the size board you use. I suggest purchasing extra to refill the board as needed.
