So, I love naturally flavored water. But it just never crossed my mind to naturally infuse tea. I mean, lemon. Yeah, obviously. But other fruit. Nope, it never dawned on me.

Until a couple weeks ago. I was making my first batch of sun tea. I decided to drop a few lemon wedges into the tea. Then I realized I had some strawberries that needed to get used. What the heck. I dropped those in too.

You know what happened next? Awesomeness!

This was the best tea I have ever had! The lemon and strawberry flavors really shine. And I added my favorite sweetener, Truvia. You can sweeten the tea or leave it unsweetened. Totally your call.

It tastes best if you refrigerate the tea and fruit overnight before serving. But it is good right away too.

As I sipped on my fruity tea I couldn’t help but feel like it reminded me of something. Snapple! Duh. I made homemade Snapple! It tastes just like it. {ahem} It actually tastes better.

  1. How large (ounces) is the jar you used? This looks wonderful and I can’t wait to try it!
    Thank you.

  2. I used to make sun tea all the time, but I never thought to infuse it with fruit. I’m trying this right now. Thanks for this–it looks delish!

  3. What do you mean, infuse in fridge overnight? The whole recipe, or just some of it?

    1. Yes, I like to leave the fruit in the tea overnight and remove it the next day. It gives it more flavor.

  4. I have a quick question…The recipe I have for sun tea says to leave the tea outside for 3-5 hours. Your recipes says 1-2 hours. Is that enough time? I plan to make this no matter what. It sounds so good!

    1. It’s your call. I tend to enjoy a lighter tea. But, the 3-5 hours will be fine as well. 🙂

      1. Thank You! Made it last week. I did try the 1-2 hours and it was fine. Thanks again.

    1. I use either regular black tea bags, or, they now have sun tea bags as well.

  5. Is this unrealistic to make for 40 people? Wanted to make a tea for my sons birthday party?

    1. Apologies for the delayed response. This comment was hiding from me. You could make enough for 40 people assuming you have enough large glass jars to do so 🙂
